13. Contingency Fees & Case Costs
We handle asbestos and mesothelioma claims on a contingency-fee basis—you owe no attorney’s fee unless we recover compensation for you. Case costs and expenses (for example, court filing fees, expert fees, and medical-records costs) are advanced by the firm and repaid only from any recovery obtained. If there is no recovery, you owe no attorney’s fee and are not responsible for repaying advanced case costs. Where we associate co-counsel to strengthen a case, fees are divided among counsel in accordance with Texas Disciplinary Rule 1.04—this never increases your total cost or reduces your net recovery. Your written engagement agreement controls and governs any conflict with this summary.
